Federal & provincial Program
New federal and provincial funding is driving key improvements to the program, including:
- Expanding eligibility to include middle-income households.
- Offering rebates that cover 100% of the cost for new heat pumps, with a cap based on the type of heat pump (central, multi-split, or mini-split).
- Increasing the maximum rebate for heat pumps from $9,500 to $16,000.
- Raising the maximum rebate for electrical service upgrades required for heat pump installation from $3,500 to $5,000.

- An increasing number of local governments in BC are providing additional rebates to supplement the CleanBC Rebate Programs.
- For a limited period, local governments in BC are offering extra home rebates, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Canada Greener
- Borrow up to $40,000 (with a minimum of $5,000).
- Enjoy an interest-free repayment period of up to 10 years.
- The loan is an unsecured personal loan, subject to approved credit.
FortisBC dual fuel heat pump rebate: $5,150 rebate
- FortisBC is now offering up to $5,150 in rebates for homeowners who upgrade their older gas heating system to a dual fuel setup, combining an electric heat pump with a high-efficiency gas furnace.
- A dual fuel system combines an electric heat pump with a gas furnace. The gas furnace will provide back-up heating on the coldest days (usually well below freezing) when it is hardest for the heat pump to keep up.
- This rebate is available for all income levels. Furnace must be 10 year old or older This rebate is only available to homes with gas furnaces. Boilers do not qualify. Homes with boilers must install an all-electric ductless heat pump system to qualify for a rebate.
